The goal of STEM education is to increase STEM literacy—defined as the knowledge and understanding of scientific and mathematical concepts and processes required for personal decision making, participation in civic and cultural affairs, and economic productivity for all students.
Social Awareness Initiatives
Our sixth grade students champion social issues . The object is for our students to align themselves with a cause or organization which promotes solutions to better our world . Causes such as; Homelessness, Black Lives Matter, March for Our Lives. Animal Abuse , Cancer ,Voting Rights and etc. The Banneker community feel it is imperative for our students not only to study academics but to become socially aware and active citizens globally.
